SAN MARCOS Guatemala

Nestled between the Tacaná and Tajumulco volcanoes on the Mexican border, the San Marcos region is the warmest of Guatemala's coffee growing regions. It also has the highest rainfall. These weather patterns, heavily influenced by the adjacent Pacific Ocean, result in earlier flowering and slower ripening than other growing regions. In the cup, this means sweeter more complex flavor.

This crop was produced by the family farmers of the cooperative ASPROCGEGUA (Asociacion de Productores de Café Diferenciados y Especiales de Guatemala) which provides technical assistance, education, and nutrition services for their communities.
