SUMATRA MANDHELING WAHANA
The recently established Wahana Estate is located near Lake Toba in northern Sumatra. All of the coffee is shade grown under Lamtoro trees using only natural fertilizers to ensure that the coffee is grown as sustainably as possible, and the estate is working toward organic and Rainforest Alliance certification. In addition, several conservation areas have been established on the estate's land, and housing, a community center and a medical clinic have been built for workers.
Although this is a lighter roast, it appears darker because the green (raw) beans are naturally darker than most.
